Mr Hooman Soleymani Majd

Dr Hooman Soleymani Majd

Mr Hooman Soleymani Majd stands as a distinguished gynaecological consultant and expert in oncology surgery. He is renowned for his surgical skills and proficiency in minimally invasive techniques (keyhole surgery). Mr. Soleymani Majd is hugely experienced and excels in performing intricate open and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. He focuses particularly on the treatment of pelvic masses, treating cancer and performing surgery for complex gynaecological conditions, including the treatment of benign gynaecological conditions. 

Mr Hooman Soleymani Majd commenced his career in obstetrics and gynaecology in London, before transitioning to Oxford and undertaking a rigorous postgraduate training program culminating in a certificate of completion of training (CCT) in obstetrics and gynaecology. He pursued additional three-year specialist training in gynaecology oncology at the Churchill Cancer Centre in Oxford, resulting in a dual specialty accreditation. 

Mr Soleymani Majd has certification from the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP) as both a colposcopist and trainer. He is highly skilled and experienced in the management of HPV, abnormal cervical smears and at performing colposcopic treatments. He holds memberships in a number of esteemed organisations such as the British Gynaecological Cancer Society and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO).

Mr Soleymani Majd is a GMC-recognised trainer, and is involved in teaching junior doctors, clinical fellows and medical students from Oxford University. He has published a number of clinical research papers and continues to publish prolifically. He has performed a numerous live surgeries at international level and has been an invited speaker at many prestigious, international congresses.

He serves on the editorial boards of four international journals and has recently been appointed associate Editor-in-Chief of Translational Cancer Research (TCR). Mr. Soleymani Majd currently holds the position of honorary senior clinical lecturer in gynaecological oncology at the University of Oxford's Medical Sciences Division and serves as a visiting Professor at Guangxi Medical University Cancer Hospital in Nanning, China.

He is well known and respected in both the national and international gynaecology community. He strives for clinical excellence and is a strong advocate of women's health, always delivering compassionate care. Miss Lamiese Ismail

Dr Lamiese Ismail

Miss Ismail was born and raised in South Africa, obtaining her primary medical qualification from the prestigious University of Cape Town in 2000. She gained extensive clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology at various hospital units across South Africa before relocating to the United Kingdom to further her career.

She completed advanced specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology within the London and Oxford deaneries, undergoing a rigorous seven-year postgraduate program. During this time, she achieved membership with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in December 2014. Since then, she has served as a consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

As a general obstetrician and gynaecologist, Miss Ismail has undertaken advanced training in benign gynaecology, operative hysteroscopy, and vulval diseases. Her clinical expertise focuses on managing menstrual disorders, ovarian cysts, vulval conditions, and the medical treatment of endometriosis. She is skilled in performing intermediate-level minimal access surgeries and outpatient hysteroscopies, ensuring high-quality care for her patients.

Miss Ismail is an accomplished academic with multiple peer-reviewed publications to her name. She is also a GMC-recognised trainer, deeply committed to educating and mentoring junior doctors at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Her dedication to medical education reflects her passion for cultivating the next generation of clinicians.

Zoe has a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with patients. She has worked in the NHS since 2002, predominantly within the gynaecology team. She was the gynaecological oncology MDT coordinator for several years and now works with the cancer data team on a part time basis, which she juggles around raising her two young children.

She has been the administrator and secretary of our team at Gynaecology Care Oxford since this practice began in 2018. Zoe is the backbone of our team and thoroughly enjoys working for Gynaecology Care Oxford due to the interaction she has with our patients. She has a well-deserved reputation for being extremely caring, highly supportive and helping our patients along their pathway with much empathy and compassion. She works closely with our consultants to ensure that each patient is kept informed about their care in a timely and professional manner.
